Morgan Belle Champions Outdoor Access as New BWCF Board Member

Bike/Walk Central Florida (BWCF) is pleased to welcome Morgan Belle to its Board of Directors. As a conservation professional, avid cyclist, and outdoor enthusiast, Morgan brings a perspective that links environmental conservation with the importance of safe, well-designed communities. Her experience in research, program evaluation, and public outreach will support BWCF’s work to help people throughout Central Florida safely walk, bike, and roll.
Connecting Conservation and Community Well-Being
Morgan is a Conservation Programs Manager with Disney Conservation at Walt Disney World, where she leads conservation programs in developed areas. Her work focuses on protecting wildlife and supporting conservation efforts, with a specialty in pollinating insects.
A central theme of Morgan’s work is the relationship between people and nature. Her research interests include animal movement and habitat use, as well as the benefits of quality outdoor access. She is interested in creating environments that serve both people and wildlife while supporting healthier communities.
Morgan holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Palm Beach Atlantic University and a master’s degree in biology with an emphasis in ecology and conservation biology from San Francisco State University. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in Integrative Conservation Biology at the University of Central Florida.
Experience in Research, Evaluation, and Outreach
Throughout her career, Morgan has worked across conservation research, education, and program development. Her experience includes roles with the Florida Department of Agriculture, the Orange County school system, and Disney Conservation.
In addition to her conservation expertise, Morgan brings experience in grant writing, media relations, and program evaluation. She has communicated research findings and conservation initiatives through public outreach, social media, traditional media, and presentations.
These skills will support BWCF’s efforts to engage communities, communicate the importance of walking and biking, and evaluate program impact. Morgan also brings firsthand knowledge of Central Florida’s cycling and outdoor communities.
Improving Access to the Outdoors
As an avid cyclist and hiker, Morgan understands the importance of being able to move safely through a community and reach trails and outdoor spaces. She believes everyone deserves quality access to the outdoors, regardless of ability.
Through her experiences in Central Florida, Morgan has seen how gaps in sidewalk networks and a lack of safe crossings can make it difficult for people to reach their destinations on foot or by bike. These challenges can be especially significant for children and others who may have fewer transportation options.
Morgan believes sidewalks, paths, and safe crossings should make it easier for people to reach everyday destinations and enjoy the outdoors. Her vision is for communities where people of all abilities can travel safely and have meaningful choices in how they get around.
Advancing BWCF’s Mission
Morgan’s background in conservation, research, and program evaluation brings a valuable perspective to BWCF’s work. Her understanding of the relationship between people, wildlife, and the built environment reinforces the importance of thoughtful community design and access to outdoor spaces.
Through her board service, Morgan hopes to contribute her professional expertise and personal experience to help create communities where walking, biking, and rolling are safe and practical options for everyday travel.
Outside of work and research, Morgan enjoys cycling around Central Florida, exploring the outdoors with her dog, and volunteering with local arts organizations, including the Haines City Theatre and Orlando Fringe Festival.
We’re excited to welcome Morgan Belle to the BWCF Board of Directors and look forward to working together toward a Central Florida where everyone can safely walk, bike, and roll.
