SAFE Travelers Youth Program
The SAFE Travelers Youth Program, formerly know as Bike/Walk Kids, is a youth-focused safety program launched in 2024 that helps children build lifelong walking, biking, and rolling safety skills through hands-on education and community partnerships.
How the Program Works
The SAFE Travelers Youth Program brings safety education directly to the places where children learn and play. Our team partners with schools, community organizations, and local leaders to deliver engaging, age-appropriate programming that builds confidence and awareness.
Program activities include:
Interactive Safety Presentations
Bike Rodeos & Skills Courses
Certified Helmet Fittings
Each activity is designed to meet kids where they are and reinforce practical safety skills they can use in their everyday routines.
Who the SAFE Travelers Youth Program Serves
The SAFE Travelers Youth Program is designed for children and teens from early childhood through high school, with programming tailored to different stages of growth and independence.
- Early learners (ages 3–5) through certified helmet fittings and parent-focused safety support.
- Elementary students (ages 6–10) building confidence through hands-on walking and biking safety education.
- Middle school students (ages 11–14) gaining independence on bikes, scooters, and other mobility devices.
- High school students (ages 15–18) preparing to drive or share the road responsibly.
SAFE Travelers Youth Program also works with the adults who support youth safety, including:
- Schools and school districts
- Parents and caregivers
- Community organizations and youth-serving groups
By working across age groups and support systems, SAFE Travelers Youth Program helps reinforce safe habits at school, at home, and in the community.
SAFE Travelers in Action
From bike rodeos and helmet fittings to school-based safety lessons, the SAFE Travelers Youth Program brings safety education to life through hands-on experiences that kids remember and use.
